Local Nomad: A Travelling Artist
Hi, I'm Brit. So far it's just me making art here, but there will likely be more folks soon. I have this loosely affiliated group of very talented and beautifully artistic friends... Most of them scrape by working at farms, woodworking, teaching, busking, and living on the road. Most of them have an aversion to this digital world, but I've been entrenched in it for years. For the past year I've travelled with this group, working remotely in IT during the day while basking in a simpler lifestyle every evening. The dichotomy from the stress and futility of my corporate job versus the beautiful calm of drifting from farm to farm seemed to burn me out faster than if I'd never known any differently. As priorities at work shifted, I was let go in a way that's allowing me to explore whether I can make it as an artist - at least for a few months. So, here we go. A new adventure.
