FAQs and Facts
Where do you travel?
Mostly along the East Coast. We always head south for the winter, but the summers can be anywhere from Tennessee to Maine.
What do you travel in?
A short bus, ie Skoolie. It's basically a tiny apartment. Hot water, full fridge, air conditioning, big bed, tv... It's everything you've got at home, but in an itty-bitty living space. I'm currently working on building out another one, but there are some wiring issues and it's melting my brain... so I might be in Big Blue for a while.
What equipment do you use to make your art?
I use a combination of hand tools, power tools, paints, inks, leather, and stencils. The biggest, most expensive tool I've got is a 40w diode laser from XTools. It cuts thin wood in intricate patterns, lets me make custom stencils, burns details into fabric and leather, and helps me reproduce similar elements for different pieces. Cutting into some of the hardwoods (like ipe and cumaru) is difficult with a laser if you're not going for the torched look, so I also do a lot with a dremmel and chisels.
Do you offer [specific service inquiry]?
No. Not yet. Maybe soon. Thanks for asking!
How can I contact you?
You can reach me at brit@localnomad.org. I'm happy to chat whenever I've got the time.

What's a nomad?
A Wanderer. Someone who doesn't stay put for very long. This isn't homeless. As a nomad, I carry my home with me, like a hermit crab. Wherever I go, I've got it all with me.
